Girls Day Out '08!
Girls Day Out 08 started early on a cold November day as the girls enjoyed their Limo Ride to Toronto with the anticipation of attending a taping of the Steven & Chris Show on CBC. Upon arriving we were personally greeted by the show staff and escorted up to the studio where we had our make-up touched up and enjoyed ginger snaps and snuck a peek at Steven & Chris walking around before the show. When it was time we were seated in the front row and got a quick run down of how the show taping would progress. It was so exciting... we were prompted on how to clap, which seemed uneccessary as we were bursting waiting for Steven & Chris to arrive. They are the nicest, down to earth genuine guys and the energy they project is palpable. During the commercial breaks they were happy to pose for photos and chat with the studio audience. The two and half hours we were in the studio flashed by quickly and we were sad to see our time end, but look forward to going back someday!
After the show we went to the Direct Energy Center and enjoyed a beautiful lunch at the One of a Kind Show Bistro. We were still "high" from our morning with Steven & Chris and chatted about the prizes we won and our experience and wondered if we would make "the cut" for the show which was to be aired December 3rd.
Once we finished up lunch we walked around the show and saw some amazing artisans and enjoyed baked treats along the way. It was hard to choose something to buy as a memento of our day but I couldn't resist the cranberry pudding with a butter sauce...yum!
Exhausted from the early morning and all the walking at the show we gladly piled back into the limo. The ladies enjoyed a gift bag from "Interiors by Cindy" and a glass of wine on the way home. Traffic was slow moving so it gave us more time to talk about our day and meeting Steven & Chris....the highlight of the day!
It will be hard to top this Girls Day Out next year, but I have some ideas........
